I have speakers on them that weigh about 40 pounds each and they do not move at all. There are carpet studs provided if you choose to attach to the base of the stands to keep them from moving on the rug, however some people have hardwood floors and they should supply in the kit some rubber grips to use on hard flooring.In addition, there is a speaker wire channel in the rear of the stand. Its a very nice feature, however I cannot use it since my speaker cables are heavy gauge and I use terminal connectors that get in the way for a clean look. Overall the quality is very good and looks to be solid oak.
