I bought this thing to house my home theater gear and a 200 CD changer. The CD changer alone is 19 inches deep and 7 inches tall and just won't fit into a fancy stand sporting a wire blind or shabby 4-6 inch shelf spacing. The AV receiver is pretty big, too... almost as big as the changer -- and it gets pretty hot to boot. The open rack design keeps the air flowing and helps to prevent any meltdowns.So, if you have "real" gear and want an inexpensive solution, the Sanus AFA models may be for you.
