I thought I got a great deal and I did..but I didn't. THESE ARE FOR VERY SMALL SPEAKERS! I have the Klipsch Synergy Quintet 5.1 and these stands simply wont hold them. Again these are specifically for small satellites such as cubes nothing bigger. The shelf at the top of the stand is about 2" X 2". They are hollow which allows you to feed the speaker wire throught them but 14ga definitely wont fit through the hole near the speaker and I imagine you'll have trouble with 16ga as well. I only mention this because of recommended gauges and lengths for your set up may be an issue. On the plus side, the base is heavy duty which make these stands unlikely to get knocked over.
